One reason we started ultoday.com was because there were just too many great stories at UL that were never making it off campus.

In fact, academics at UL are actually a lot more competitive than athletics, in general. That will change.

And of course, rollerhockey is a big exception. I wonder if some LSU supporters won't start pumping money into their rollerhockey team now...

Years ago, LSU was not really interested in basketball. UL has a Top 10 Team. LSU becomes interested.

Years ago, LSU was not really interested in baseball. UNO gets to the CWS. LSU becomes interested.

Years ago, LSU was not really interested in women's basketball. LTU has a national championship team. LSU becomes interested.

Years ago, LSU was not really interested in softball. UL has a WCWS Team. LSU becomes interested.

Right now, LSU is not really interested in rollerhockey. UL just defeated LSU, won the conference and is going to the national tournament...

As a player on the team, I must say the win felt great! I must also add that the win was TEN TIMES better since it was over LSU. Not only did we beat them both times in the regular season but swept them in the Championships. The scores of both games doesn't begin to explain how bad we really beat them; we had TOTAL control of both games and the close scores were only due to us playing a "prevent defense" which is not our style. Granted we are a club team but a win over LSU, especially one of this caliber, is a win to be extremely proud of.
I wish luck to all the other club teams that get over-looked and of course good luck to the rest of the UL teams the rest of the year and years to come.

Thanks for your history lessen and for the sake of history only:

I must be wrong, but seems I recall a Final 4 trip for LSU in the early 1950ies and a Top 10 ranking then as well.

I'm not the history buff some might be, so I could be wrong.

The next thing I'll read in the local paper is LState is building a $10 mil roller hockey stadium and hiring Bobby Orr to coach the team. lol!

Griping here doesn't make UL better. It hurts us.
It hurts team morale, game attendance, supporter donations, student and athlete recruitment.

When you whine on the boards, stop and think about what you're doing: are you really supporting UL?
