    Default Free first round game???

David Walker should be applauded for this. He gets it and knows UL is still saving money with a home game even if it is free. This is his best move as Athletic Director

    Got this in an email.

    Louisiana Announces Lagniappe Baseball

    Release: 02/27/2009

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns announced on Friday that an additional game has been added to the 2009 baseball ticket package. UL will face Texas-Southern on Wednesday, March 4 at 5pm in a game that was not on the original schedule.
As a result, the UL Athletic Department is pleased to announce that entry into Wednesday’s game will be free to the public on a first-come, first-serve general admission basis.
“In these tough economic times, we are pleased to offer a free evening of baseball,” athletics director David Walker said.
The initial schedule, released in December, contained 54 games, two games short of the NCAA-maximum 56-game season.
The Cajuns had a full schedule on the books for months until a last minute cancellation of a home-and-home series suddenly left UL short. With little time to add two games prior to the season, the Cajuns proceeded with season ticket orders for 25 home contests.
“We lost two games due to extenuating circumstances very late in the scheduling process,” Walker added. “Coach Robichaux and his staff did a great job to find another game.
“The Cajuns invite everyone out to Moore Field for a fun and free night of family entertainment.”
The gates at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field will open at 4pm.
The Cajuns and Tigers have not met since 2004, a 13-0 victory by the hosts in Lafayette . UL owns an 11-0 record all-time against TSU.

This in my opinion is what makes UL a great school.

I was wrong. This is why I like message boards, it corrects bad information. The free basketball game news was going around the office all afternoon. There are at least a hundred thinking this. David Walker should be aplauded for the free BASEBALL game as well.

No, I much prefer baseball over basketball, the play of the team does help the decision, but unless we were a #1 seed, I probably wouldn't head to a basketball game over a baseball game.
