For both 2008 meetings, both the Golden Eagles and the Ragin’ Cajuns were ranked, the Eagles at #28 and the Cajuns at #25.

The Southern Miss series will be UL’s first road weekend series of the season. The Golden Eagles will be finishing off a season-opening, eight-game homestand. During the week, USM defeated fellow Sun Belters New Orleans (Feb. 24: 13-5) and South Alabama (Feb. 25: 12-0).
