Silver-lining time. It's early, so I'll still be optimistic:
Greg Harmon looked about as good as I've ever seen him. All be it against SLU, he came in and stabilized the team, stopped the bleeding (not to mention got out of a bases loaded, no out jam) and provided leadership. Gave us a chance to come back.
Fusselier, Fontenot, Bostick, Wes Smith. Remember these names because they look promising. Like someone said previously, they look hungrier than the older guys.
Scott Hawkins looked good early on, but his last 2 at bats were really lacking. The miscue on the bunt I'm still shaking my head over. (His bomb was a no doubter though)
I can't for the life of me figure out why no matter who we put at third, they can not make the throw across. Third base is a huge problem right now.
Thad Griffen and Matt Hicks look bad. Real bad. Matt Hicks looks completely lost everytime he steps up to the plate, and Thad Griffen does one of two things with every plate appearance: strikes out, or hits the ball really hard at somebody. Whomever was expecting "a big year" from either one of these guys; you'll be disappointed.
Wagley and Marze had good stuff, but got wild at bad times. We're still walking ppl and hitting ppl. No excuse for that.
Chalk it up as a learning experience, and move on guys.. Southern Miss awaits.
