Small, arm tackler. Not that fast.
On offense, he looks slippery but nothing pops out at you.
For shiggles, if anyone can find it, watch Kevin Faulk's HS highlight tape. It's transcendent.
I was not aware Faulk was in a lot of trouble. I suspect if he had a transcendant criminal record he would be permanently suspended by the NFL. If all you are talking about is college fight and a drug infraction this would put him with the majority of NFL players.
Had the pleasure of seeing Faulk in HS...he was one of the best I have ever seen.
6 ft 185 isnt that small for a sophmore i thought looked like a good future recruit, but what do i know.
Faulk has had, I think, two run-ins with Lafayette Police over the years. One was at a Mardi Gras parade where he moved a barricade so he and his friends could cross to the other side. An officer told him not to move the barricade and he he didn't listen and got arrested for I think a couple of misdemeanors.
Recently, he was arrested at a concert in the Cajundome when he was carrying marijuana. He said he confiscated the marijuana from one of the people in his party.
Pretty sure both charges were dropped.
I've met Kevin many times and I can tell you, he's not this trouble-making thug that the poster above you is trying to make him out to be. I don't know what goes on in his personal life, but he graduated college in 3.5 years, is a huge part of the greater Boston community outreach programs and does a lot of great things for kids in this area (with his free summer football camp).
I certainly wouldn't say his criminal past transcends his athletic career.
Kevin has a few "misunderstandings" with the law locally, but compared to Plaxico Burress, Adam Jones and Lawrence Taylor, Faulk is a darling. If his character was in issue, he would not have lasted 1 year in Foxborrough.
Anyway, back to the original point; probably the best LA Highschooler in history. He did everything, and was outstanding at everything.
Not to pick at nits, but there are AT LEAST three Louisiana HS players at Faulk's position that I would take before him in a heartbeat:
Jimmy Taylor from Lake Charles
Billy Cannon from Baton Rouge
John David Crowe from Monroe
I'd probably also take the other Faulk [Marshall] from New Orleans before Kevin
Not necessarily in that order, but all before Faulk.
In High School?
No way buddy. I've seen that highlight video too many times (I went to Carencro, and on rainy days we'd watches "movies" for Phys Ed). It still shocks people, and while I've never seen the rest of that lists in High School, I can't imagine someone else putting together a better highlight reel.
Coming from an old nit-picker (me), just wanted to correct you on one thing. John David Crowe was from Springhill not Monroe. Springhill was my hs's arch rival, so we heard about him a lot. Also, all three of these guys were from the pre-integration period. Not that they weren't that good or even that they wouldn't warrant consideration for HS greatness, but we'll never know how they would've fared against integrated competition. Just sayin' ...
Quentin Lawrence rushed for over 570 yards for Carencro a few years back...
1) Do not do highlights of mediocre plays.
2) Someone made some money off these highlights.
3) 2 minutes would have shown us the good plays, 7 minutes made it hard to tell.
As an example, here are the highlights of 2 10th graders, 6:44 between them...

I say this as well intended feedback for your friend...
When augie here an asst. coach Dwight Flanagan recruited the BR area --he asked a few of us to check out a player and tell him what we thought--well he's okay--looks kinda slow--slow release--etc.---old video of Doug Williams!!! just shows that recruiting is damn hard for the most part!!!!
