  Les Smith's intensity showed when he heard that UL's baseball team would be off Monday after last weekend's hard-fought season-opening series against Nebraska. The Cajuns settled for one win, two losses and one tie in the four-game set.

"Of course, we want to play baseball every day," said the freshman right fielder. "We wanted to sweep them. We were in every game. We're just going to keep getting after it and going to keep working hard.

"Hopefully, we'll get some more Ws."

Les Smith is an interesting player. He looks good at the plate every time, and gives us another lefty in the lineup. Also, he looks to have a very strong arm from right field. Tonight should be fun
