T-Mobile today announced that it has passed up frenemy Sprint to become the largest pre-paid wireless operator in the US. The company claims to have 15.64 million pre-paid subscribers, compared to Sprint’s 15.19 million. AT&T and Verizon have 11.34 million and 6.04 million, respectively. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s overall customer base has grown to more than 50 million. CEO John Legere tweeted_that he expects his company to over take Sprint in terms of total subscribers by the end of this year.
