HOUSTON, Texas-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns golf team posted their fourth top 5 finish of the season with a fifth place performance at the Rice Intercollegiate at the Westwood Golf Club in Southwest Houston.
The Cajuns posted their second round of 292 to jump two spots from seventh to fifth place. For the second consecutive tournament, Louisiana used solid second and third round efforts to move up the leaderboard. After a round one score of 301, the Cajuns were in ninth place. UL moved up two spots to seventh place after the conclusion of the second round and finished the tournament in fifth place.
Louisiana was led by a trio of top 25 finishes. Thomas Petts, Kyle Pritchard and Devin Carrey placed in the top 25.
Petts saved his best round for last and carded a one-under par round of 71. Petts’ 220 tournament score was good enough to tie him for 13th. His final round of 71 tied for the lowest round of the year for Petts and marked his second sub-par round of the season.
One stroke back of Petts was Pritchard who finished the tournament with a 221. The junior carded a three-over par round of 75 in the final round to place 18th overall.
Carrey finished the Rice Intercollegiate one-stroke behind Pritchard with an overall scorecard of 222. His final round of 75 put Carrey in a tie for 21st.

Fendt shot a one-under par round of 71 in the final round of the tournament to finish just outside of the top 25 (T-30). Noto turned in a final score card of 229 to finish the Rice Intercollegiate in a tie for 49th.
