No big deal. They were just 3 points from moving up. It's still early in the season.
They actually went 5-0 this weekend.
It is not where you start, but where you finish...We will be alright in the end...Geaux Cajuns
Gotta look at who's ahead of us as well.
Only Northwestern, Houston and Texas A&M ahead of us with more losses.
NU lost to #17 Nevada and #6 UCLA as well as Kansas
UH lost to St Marys, #10 Cal, #8 OU, Tx St
A&M lost to Tulsa, Ohio St 2x, #22 LSU 2x
We lost 2x to Ole Miss.
Definitely could have been higher than UH and A&M, but really it doesn't matter in the second week of the season. If we win out next weekend and don't move up, then I'll be a little more upset.
UCONN, Kentucky 2x, #28 SDSU 2x this weekend but the big ones are in a few weeks in the NFCA Leadoff and Judi Garman tournaments against quite a few ranked opponents.
ESPN has us 18, above houston and a&m and lsu.

they also gave FAU more votes than Ole Miss.
I'm with you on this. If the Cajuns go 5-0 this weekend and don't at least move up a spot or two, then something's screwy.
But I wouldn't fret too much about the rankings this early in the season. As you pointed out, in the next few weeks, the Cajuns play No. 4 Michigan, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 12 Northwestern, No. 13 DePaul, and No. 14 Fresno State.
If the Cajuns are a top 10 team, they'll have plenty of chances to prove themselves in these next three weeks.
Oh no....they drop in the polls.....which have absolutely no bearing on where they are seeded in the NCAA tournament, which they will still make this season.
Yes and no. Ultimately, it doesn't matter where they're ranked in the Top 25, but at the same time, I think it will matter when it comes time to pick host sites. I think if the Cajuns are in the top 10 with solid wins in the Leadoff and Judi Garman, I think they'll have a shot at being a national seed.
It's obvious that rankings meant very little in 2004 when the team was ranked as high as it was and was still the No. 5 seed in Arizona. At the same time, the coaches vote on the polls, so if there is a general consensus the Cajuns aren't a top 10 or top 15 team by the coaches, the NCAA will likely feel the same way.
I'm a little surprised to see A&M ahead of us at #19 with 5 losses.
You're right, though...their view of us will change in the rear view mirror after they get a chance to face the killer B's (and a C, and an S, apparently) up close and personal! Once they get beat, they'll change their tune.
"Oh, the red team's pretty decent."
