I always had the same thoughts about her coaching ability.
I also agree with the Biddy program we had back then. Way ahead of the curve. I really haven't kept up with the Biddy teams lately.
You guys had a pretty good run there on talent for a few years. Ours just never never made it in to their high school. And that was our fault for never having anyone to coach them past 8th grade.
If we go the high school route we should get Danny Miller. He just got his 1000th career win this season and has taken 4 different programs to where they have never gotten before including 2 different schools to state championships.
It must be a moral victory to lose by less than double digits. Pokey Chatman is a good coach, give her another chance and create a nationwide buzz.
Besides Garrys first year there when he started 3-13 (but then after they had played for him ended up going to the Sweet Sixteen) when did VC beat TC? Well thats true Kim never wanted to play TC once Garry got there. I think you hit the nail on the head with Errol, Kim and numerous other high school coaches who win when they have players. Look at what Brodhead did at TC even when he did not have players. They always made a playoff run and went to Top 28 even in supposed rebuilding years. He knows everyone with money and power in Lafayette so he could raise money and build support in turning the program around. He also knows so many coaches (college and high school) that he could build a great staff.
Why would people have a problem with a successful HS coach for the WBB program when discussion has come up over and over about a local HS football coach over our football program? I know the same people probably want neither.
Football is very different, but I see no reason we don't consider someone with strong ties to the area, proven at the highschool level, for a WBB coach. Why is that such a bad thing? Where did the Lotief's coach before UL... or Yvette for that matter?
I see it differently for Football and MBB... and it is different (a subject for a different thread).
It's a moo point (like a cow's opinion).
Rogers will probably get another year even if he loses the rest. Bank on it!
The Lotief's had experience with running an organization.
That case aside ... If you are not happy wih the traditioal results consider this.
Besides Robichaux and coach Maj (VB) UL has never* hired coaches with some form of college head coaching experience.
* a 1 or 2 exceptions exist.
