I've reached out to John Dugas (who is really the guy to be talking to) about all of this. He'll be on Bird's Eye View either Monday or Tuesday to explain and clarify what the new policy is and what it all means.
Don't let him get away with "this is all about liability".
We will still be liable for the time before NOON, and now we will be liable for the "pick-up" free for all, at night.
Ask him to clarify the "pick-up" process please. "Deemed safe" is not a workable guideline to follow.
Don't know if my source is accurate but I have heard they are changing TG rules back to rules in years past. If my source is accurate you heard it here first.
That would be crazy and dangerous. I have been saying for years that they need to minimize the number of cars in the TG area which is why I park in lot C and walk. I was looking forward to that finally happening.
Why? Have there been any instances of trucks hitting pedestrians or flying through the tailgate area?
Should we wait till a kid dies then make a change?
Remember when Lafayette Mardi Gras parades did not have barricades? Then a kid got run over by a float and killed, now we have barricades. Parades floats travel at a pretty slow speed, the driver just didn't see the kid.
I was happy about the change.....so many kids....so many drinkers. It is an accident waiting to happen. TAMU homecoming bonfire comes to mind.
Im happy with the change as well.no problems
