Thread: Tail Gate Spot Parking Policy (merged)

  1. #445

    Default Tailgating letter to Admin.

Ive been told a strong push back on new TG rules could gain traction. Here's a short, well stated letter from a very good friend. Feel free to cut and paste.

"Many fans of UL Football have been renting space to “Tailgate” in a PARKING LOT for many years. We have paid good money through the increases and the mandated RCAF membership. I can understand the concern for vehicle movement in a tailgating area especially as it gets closer to game time and the crowd increases. That’s why the entrances to the property have been closed the last few years at 1 PM. It seems we are making new rules to take care of a problem that the first rule would have taken care of if properly enforced. Also, the rules state that you can tailgate in “General Parking Areas” if you don’t interfere with the next person’s parking. What’s the difference between those tailgaters with vehicles and the PAID For tailgating spots with vehicles. Please reconsider your decision to ban parking in tailgating spots and consider what it might take to make the original plan work. Thanks."

The Parking maps on the RCAF site don't seem to have been updated to the current parking arrangement. Then new map is here

The general parking area will be behind the Hilton Gardens hotel on the North East Corner of Cajundome Blvd and Congress Street.

As far as I know you cannot set up tents to tailgate in general parking areas.

Great questions. Not sure if anyone here can answer.

For game 1, Southern is supposedly leasing the entire Cajun Dome parking lot area fotheir fan's tailgating. This most probably would be the area for visitors in other games as well.

ALL OF YOU seriously need to step away from the keyboard...you are all working up your blood pressure for nothing....
-The rule is not going change...just do your best to follow it....if it fails...it fails...and they may change it back
-Y'all are not going to change each others stance on the issue...

GUYS...FOOTBALL season is quickly approaching...just sit back...make some new plans for your tailgate...and relax bro's!

Donate an extra $250...get a D-Lot Pass and buy a ____ing wagon....

This place (usually my favorite to read) has been downright depressing the last few days....

Thanks for the info. What does the TM mean on that map? Sounds like Cajun Dome is the way to go though.

If anyone even reads the message, they will probably not care for this simple reason: For every angry person that doesn't like the new rules, there is a person on the waiting list that would gladly pay (and probably a lot more) for the same exact spot, not complain about anything, and be totally overjoyed that they were even awarded a spot.

SUMMARY: The university is going to make the same amount of money either way. Guess which group of people they would rather deal with?

Do this group of "complainers" realize it's not our god given right to tailgate in the close vicinity of the stadium and it's a privelage!
With all the complaining, the school could say "screw all of you, have fun finding your own tailgate spots and leave"

Geez spoiled people can make a fan base look bad.

This is an incorrect mix of capital letters, periods, dashes, cursing, and the bro. Your argument is therefore invalid.

So Young Rick--all we do is have Poche pull a trailer up where he used top park his truck and the other one---unload and unhook the trailer and we are good to go!!! Well now as good as before but a good use to where the 2 trucks use to be parked---Oh and I think we can wait a while to pick it up or maybe just leave it there for the night!!! ----Your thoughts!!

Boomer always has the perfect balance of capital letters and punctuation. Scuttlebutt could learn a thing or two from the master.
