This is what has always baffled me. It's human nature, though, I guess. People will do anything to skirt the system, but when it is a cluster_____, they complain. If people follow the rules, things would run a lot smoother. Instead the people who make the rules are challenged as to how they will enforce it or that they can make all the rules they want because no one will abide by them anyway. Let's start policing things ourselves and make it easier on everyone involved.

I believe it's a Hilton field, get it right boy.

If its important enough to them, they will pay up. If not, they won't come. That's the options that are available.
To change that thinking pattern...what was wrong with the two hang tags getting to park in the gravel? Why hit these people more than once? We are already committed. We all have to have more than one season ticket, a $250 RCAF donation, and the cost of the spot. Why are we the piggy bank that has to pony up for more on parking fees? If it's money...increase the spot fees or RCAF donation amount. Don't mask it in the shroud of parking lot fees. Some tailgating spots have multiple people who are involved in the running of the spot. That is what made the hang tags worth it. I understand forcing people who normally parked in their spot to park in the gravel...but you didn't have to make them pony up another $250 for it. It's the free loaders who show up just to tailgate and leave that the $250 was supposed to hit last year. I understood that...100%. This...it's biting the hands that feed. We are already here. We aren't on the fence about anything. Increase our spot...we will pay it. Increase our RCAF donation...we will pay it. Change the parking structure to move vehicles out of spots and into the gravel...we will adjust to it. Making those same people pony up again after we thought we knew how much our spot was going to cost heading into August...that's just a complete dick move. They deserve all the headache this comes along with.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to put your experience to use and cash in on a need. Just think, you train and contract a crew, there's your money for increases!!! Haha

I seriously doubt the issue will be resolved, but we'll see. Not holding my breath on that one.

I can't argue with your points. I'm just looking at the cards UL fans have been dealt and making suggestions on how to accommadate instead of ______!ng.

Then, why not just charge appropriately for all of those parking passes and not create the Cluster F, not force all of the migrations of vehicles and people across streets and parking lots, and force all of those vehicles into the other lots thereby taking up more space there and further intensifying the space issue?

They could have just charged us for the parking. Problem solved.

As far as all this habit of late announcements is concerned, I agree. This would have been a great topic for June on RP.

However! One thing to consider, is how far they have actually come. In 2008 they started charging for north end zone tailgate spots in the middle of the season. At least now the announcements are coming in the preseason.

The real irony is how the North EndZone went from free to most expensive in 5+ seasons.

They do charge accordingly...Donate an extra $500 and you will get 3 parking passes per spot.

    Default UL Creates unsafe situation

    Please hear me out.

Up until now I have always driven to my tailgate spot parked unloaded and stayed there until the game was over and then left. Please note that is one time in and one time out with all traffic flowing in the same direction.

Starting this year one will have to drive in using the little lanes between spots. Unload turn around in some cases and then drive out. When the game is over one will have to walk over to the parking lot get into his car and drive across the lot to get to the little lane between spots in order to load up his tailgating stuff. In that parking lot you will have half of the traffic flowing toward the gates to exit. The other half will be trying to go in the opposite direction to get to the tailgate area. Once you get to the tail gate are you will have to navigate down the little lanes between spots to get to yours. Trust me these lanes will be blocked by others trying to load up. You will have several people in the tailgate area including children with all this traffic some trying to get in and some trying to get out. The old way traffic all flowed one way.

    So let's do the math.
Old way, one trip in one trip out.
New way, in and out before the game. In and out after the game with traffic in parking lot and TG area now flowing in different directions.

Congratulations athletic administration you have just doubled the amount of traffic in and out the tailgate area and have intentionally created a dangerous situation.
