I first voted against the change before I voted for it.
Where'd you hear that? The UL Athletics Facebook reposted an article with the rules changes yesterday afternoon.
I'm not saying to do it 3 weeks prior to the season, I'm saying on January 2, 2015 you send a letter to all RV and TG points of contact stating the new pricing requirements, and then by March, you make an announcement in your season ticket renewal letters for everyone, and by May, any spots that open up from being priced out are now on sale to GP for those new prices.
I agree changes need to be made, but only if they are smart changes, not just for the sake of change or implied safety. Anyone priced out at any level will understand the situation and probably has enough friends at nearby tents to continue tailgating, or have their team all pitch in to help cover costs, but they have time to prepare.
The majority of longstanding people want to be priced out if there is adequate demand and the lots are full, it means success beyond our wildest dreams - just make sure everyone has adequate notice to attempt to secure the adequate resources to keep them in their spots.
I don't have a problem with the new changes we will adapt, I have a problem with the fly by night fans whom suddenly want a tailgate spot so lets price the little but faithful guy out. Some of us well most of us bought spots when tailgating at UL wasn't cool now you want to price us out. If you want to park at Cajun Field join the RCAF like the rest of us but remember one bad season and all the fly by night fans will be wearing purple and gold again.
