So Boomer, you don't read Dan McDonald either? You look at the local paper as if they are an extension of our alumni base or part of the Ragin' Cajun family, they are not. They are part of the Gannett News Corporation and cover that Cajuns as they do LSU. Its business, that's it. I'm happy that the Advocate is now covering the UL Sports program with a full time beat writer. That means this program is now more news worthy and others see the value in covering our program. Judge the quality of his work, not because he uses an acronym that our university screwed up!
Guess he never reads ESPN or Sports Illustrated articles either. We all watch the games on ESPN even though it says UL-LAF at the bottom of the screen. It is a silly and stubburn to boycott an article becuase of what they call us.
Not reading or supporting something because of what they call us will only accomplish one thing and that is that they will not write about us. The more successful we get the more mentions and press we will get and with that will come more UL-L and Louisiana-Lafayette's and yeah it sucks, but what sucks even more is when you get absolutely no mention or press at all.
Actually Fox Sports is the not the problem, they sold the Scout network to North American Membership Group. The CEO is the guy that originally started Rivals. They follow the old AP model, using the acronym of Louisiana-Lafayette. Unfortunately, my contract agreement was with Fox Sports and thus NAMG are not obligated to that contract.
I laugh when I see "Cajuns" used by itself (an ethnic group) on the heels of the media claiming they need to be "authentic" by using every element of the schools full name.
If they were being truthful, they would use Ragin' Cajuns in every instance, or conversely the nickname of the school would suffice.

I must respectfully disagree. There is no doubt that our market is growing. Voting with our dollars is the ONLY way we will get satisfactory result. It works the same for Lafayette enterprises that don's support Louisiana or support some other school. They will respond to what best suits their bottom line. Making Louisiana what best suits their bottom line is our business as a fan base.
