I don't give money to The Advocate, but I do give to The Advertiser for an online acct, because they do support UL and it's name, even though they could do a better job. That doesn't stop me from reading an article from The Advocate or any paper if it has good info on the Cajuns. Luke wrote a good article and I am glad we have the extra coverage. That in itself is worth something and we can use all the pub we can get, especially if it's of quality. So far, Luke has shown he's capable of putting out a good story, not just repeating what was said in a press conference. You won't find a stronger advocate (ha) of the University of Louisiana Ragin Cajun's name than I but that battle is with the editors of The Advocate, not Luke. I think he is trying to be respectful.

_____ing at Luke won't get anything done. It might make you feel better, might make you feel like a big man, but in the end, it's pointless. Luke has been working there for less than 30 days, and you guys are going to expect him to carry the torch for our name issue in spite of what his bosses tell him? That's insanity.
What if he did turn in every story with UL or Louisiana? What then? It gets edited out every time. Once or twice, and he'll get a tap on the shoulder from his editor. More than that, and he'll lose his job. He's doing what he's told to do. And that goes for Bobby Ardoin or Dan McDonald or anyone else who's written for the Advocate. That's a fight they're not going to win. It makes more sense to get upset at the administration because they gave the thumbs-up to UL-L.
Email the editors and publisher of the Advocate. Be respectful. A steady stream of calls to them will mean much more than Twitter-bombing a reporter's account.
I don't read scout.com because they have us listed as Louisiana-Lafayette.
The paper uses UL-Lafayette initially but pretty much uses ragin cajuns or just cajuns the rest of the way at least
He is already putting out more than Buckley
