I never called for Bustle's head when the I-Bowl issue transpired. You went back to mid-year posts about me being very upset with the coaching staff over player and play-calling when we were hobbled at QB. You twisted my words. Your "puzzle piece" concept is off in relegating the responsibility to all parts equal. The admin is the host of the puzzle. I was making it clear that "fans" are not the problem and never have been. They do not and will not miraculously begin giving and giving more money by being guilted into doing so... if the guilt message is even getting to the majority of them.
I have always stuck to my guns that our admin is at the root of our issues. I do not want a single coaching "change" until this admin releases the logic of how we are "improving" not just "changing" coaches. I don't belly-ache like some of these panty-wasted whiners about every damn thing about our school. I focus on the source... and I know I have it correct.
I have praised and celebrated the new facilites, our hard working contributors, and have never diminished their importance. But, I find it the over-ripe time to get the "right" private funding system in place. I know how the old one works... small click and hat passing. It has a choke hold on our program.
I have never ever banged on "ghost money" being spent on anything. I am no part of a group of "freaking people". My opinions are my own. It is the administration in charge of and being paid to plan, organize, and orchestrate the athletic department that will either get this ship righted... or we go back to rolling dice and hoping. Does that mean I am not a big fan and that I am not putting forth my money? No. I am.
I have slammed the snot out of the nothing-but-doomsday-dummies on here. So, do not group me with the chronic complainers. I may stop short of kool-aid euphoria, but I am a highly motivated optimist. I simply expect good solid thinkers, paid to do the business, to step forward and do what other successful athletic departments are doing. They are out in front of their fanship, are very vocal, and make real commitments to measured success.
What "key components" have been in place for only a short time? If there are "key components" in place, and I don't know about them... it is the best kept worst secret ever. We are always spending what little money we have on something, if that is what you are talking about. Have you not seen a pattern? Announce something... build something... but never really get over the hump.
How about we all take a trip to our competitors' dens? Do you not think they are not announcing, building and passing the hat just as vigorously? Those who succeed have elevated high-end private funding systems. They have community juggernauts on board along with the entire fan pyramid that not only fund modern marvels... they make sure the public servants elevate "their" game. They stay on them... because they are invested in the outcome. That is what makes things tick in this world, whether some culture-limited, academia-gifted, real-world-crippled, forever-losing, moron likes it or not. Peace Zephyr. Your Pal, J1M
