This is the absolute key to getting a football playoff.

Allowing the higher seeds, BCS programs, to host a playoff game, is like free money. The one thing they understand is greed. That could be used to build a playoff.

In the past they have played Arkansas, Nebraska and other BCS schools. Contrast this to a&m@br's non conference... Tulane, Troy, Appalachian, North Texas... then add in your Mississippi States and Kentucky's and you have a guaranteed 6 wins... So they play 3 or 4 tough games and they all whine about how tough they have it... BS..... _
the tigers' ooc sked is typically weak. but in the '07 c'ship year, remember that the final key that put them in the game was beating the team that finished FIRST in the computer [va tech] something like 41-7 as i recall. if va tech and lsu each have two losses without the lsu win head-to-head, va tech is in the game against ohio state.

The "key"? When it came down to it, I'd say Pittsburg gave them the key. They then did what needed to be done - they busted the gate wide open. No question about that.

2007 was soooo crazy for the leadup to the NC game.

Every single (unlikely) thing that needed to happen for LSU to get in happened. Kind of like for UL in 2008 when all the 5-6 teams that we needed to lose lost, and then we went to that bowl game... oh wait...

that's why i said "final" instead of biggest. until mizzou and wvu lost, a weighing of two loss teams was a non-issue. but once the comparisons started, it was lsu's win over va tech that broke that "tie." ga. not being a conference champion was the other. but i think you and i see the deal pretty much the same way.

Are you sure it wasnt Les "Purple Tie" Miles and his wacko impromptu conference were he declared that he had a damn strong team that then went out and struggled mightly against a bad, bad, did i mention bad Volunteers team that allowed Erik Ainge one last chance to sabotage his own life by throwing 2 picks in the 4th quarter. WVU and Mizzou, no way it was the conference and the power exuded by Miles that made Pat White get hurt, and Mizzou suck all of a sudden. That guy is powerful, when he said damn strong team, three unwed teenage mothers in baton rouge dropped premies because of the power in his voice.

The carrousel came around, the ring was there and they grabbed it. That's just the way it happens sometimes.

Which was right after he lost to an UNRANKED Ar-Kansas team in VAUNTED tiggger stadium and yet somehow leapfrogged Oklahoma who destroyed the then #1 team in the nation on a neutral field.... still scratching my head over that one.

While I agree the system is highly inefficient. Attempting to shoot holes in the accomplishments of a team that has won a couple of National Championships lately sure seems a bit silly on our part.

tho' i give you little chance of success, if you were to somehow talk ihate and 'hawk out of their propensity for anti-lsu rants, you would make me, and so many people i know, VERY, VERY, VERY unhappy. please desist at once.

carry on, boys; by the way, what did y'all think of the '03 c'ship?
