Microsoft released Windows 8.1 Update few months back. Windows 8.1 Update included lots of improvements for keyboard and mouse users. It also enabled new low-end hardware to be built by OEMs on top of Windows. With the recent reports, we already know that Microsoft is working on the second update for Windows 8.1. So far, we referred it as ‘Windows 8.1 Update 2′. Today, Windows IT Pro reported few information on this update based on their sources. Here is the summary of them, Windows 8.1 Update 2 will be just called August update. It will not be released separately, instead it will be released as part of the August Patch Tuesday update. It will be a standalone patch. So, you need to have Update_1 installed to install this August update. It will not be a mandatory update like Update 1.
