No, there are other qualified candidates that can be hired for the right package. We do not need to settle for another career assistant coach from a major program again. When or if it is announced, I will be happy to name a few providing our adimistration is willing to move beyond $200,000.
I did a long time ago, I said then and I'll say now, the buyout would be more than the school could afford, and even if we could buy him out, the fact that he would demand no less than 180-190K would run us off. In my opinion, Billy Kennedy has a 0.00% chance of being our next head coach.
Butch is not who reminds me of the previous administrators. The only thing about him that does remind me of those times is his inability to get the opportunity to lead this program while working for morons. I think he would be a great candidate and he's someone who has a special link to this university and since the school will be operating with a 1 million dollar athletic deficit, I think its a good idea to explore those candidates who will work for what Lee was making.
First of all, he was too closely associated with Brady considering he was on his staff for all eleven seasons. Second of all, LSU has plenty of resources to bring in a guy with quality head coaching experience. I'd love to hear your theory on why he would be "lucky to get offered any head coaching position"? I've heard these type of comments before, but nobody has even given a concrete answer defending such a statement.
