Yeesh, it's not looking good we only lose MAYBE 2 home games a year and we are already 1-2 at home. Not to mention against a very average Ole Miss team. (Don't try and convince me anything about them, we went to the WCWS last year and they finished .500)

UNACCEPTABLE! ALL THE PITCHING, NO HELP HITTING

If we had gone 3-0 this weekend we could very well be #2 in the country, but I see we are probably not a top 10 team. I am in no way bashing this team, I will continue to support them; but regardless of what happens the remainder of the season it's going to be hard to host now. We would almost have to win out the two big tourneys (Judi Garman & NFCA Leadoff Classic) but that won't happen with the bats we have now (hopefully they pick up!).

I noticed we had problems even with the 7-0 win Friday, that game should have been over in 5 with about 12 runs scored. _
Wow! Ole Miss wins 2 of 3 from the #6 ranked team on the road and doesn't even get ANY votes for top 25? That makes no sense. I'm sure that the Cajuns will come around. They have excellent coaches and outstanding talent!

or the number of hitters period. With due rspect, we were probably overrated in he pre-season polls, with a win over the #1 team last year propelling us as high as we were. Polls, however, are opinions, and rightfully, those opinions are coming down to earth.

GO LADY CAJUNS. Your're great! Wish I could say the same for those new concessions prices. (had to get a dig)

I'm far more interested in what the polls say at the END of the season as opposed to week 1.

exactly. at least this sport has a playoff system that allows you to overcome this kind of start. it doesn't just annoint a "champion."

The amount of slap hitting was certainly a concern. The infield plays so far in because they know we don't possess a lot of power that it is hard. They don't swing at much and we definitely have to liven up the bats to be successful. I think they will settle into a nice groove but we have to be able to do something with the hitting.

As a fan, I had gotten over-confident... and I apologize. I think this was a good lesson for me and now I'm going to buckle down and work harder... luckily it's early in the season and I have time to adjust and come back swinging.

We have absolutely nothing to worry about... I've got my game face on (really scary) and I'm taking no prisoners from here on out.

I have been going to games for 20 years and I marvel at the people who are "part time" fans, or even baseball fans who make statements about softball. High Standards???? Nobody has higher standards than Mike and Steph with the possible exception of the ladies on the team. THey are just looking for chemistry.

Softball is a sport that is won by a tournament, not by a mythical poll that rank teams to determine a national champ. Mike and Steph are looking at the end of the season, and you can count on the fact that we will be there when it counts.

Keep going out to the park, keep buying your 50/50 tickets, get excited when the balls start flying out of the park, and enjoy the no-hitter that is sure to come this weekend!

Well, keep marveling. We all have our eye on the end of the year as well and I think we all have an amount of perspective when looking at this program. It was very frustrating watching the Saturday and Sunday games for me as their hitting certainly has some improvement to do but we know they are and will be a good team. However, it was worrisome to see.

Your comments are RIGHT on! Heck... starting 1 and 2... why even play the rest of the games? I think we should just forfeit the rest of the season... find some new hitters in the off season... and focus on next year!

PS. I have cooled down since this post. I am totally confident in the coaches and team. Go Lady Cajuns
