UL Softball Softball drops big in polls

    http://nfca.org/top25/index.php?cat_id=1

Yeesh, it's not looking good we only lose MAYBE 2 home games a year and we are already 1-2 at home. Not to mention against a very average Ole Miss team. (Don't try and convince me anything about them, we went to the WCWS last year and they finished .500)

UNACCEPTABLE! ALL THE PITCHING, NO HELP HITTING

If we had gone 3-0 this weekend we could very well be #2 in the country, but I see we are probably not a top 10 team. I am in no way bashing this team, I will continue to support them; but regardless of what happens the remainder of the season it's going to be hard to host now. We would almost have to win out the two big tourneys (Judi Garman & NFCA Leadoff Classic) but that won't happen with the bats we have now (hopefully they pick up!).

I noticed we had problems even with the 7-0 win Friday, that game should have been over in 5 with about 12 runs scored.

Calm down it is the first weekend of the season. The lineup will take time to mold. Does nobody remember losing to ULM last year? We have had series like this before.

You have to remember we lost two key batters in Holy Tankersly and Vanessa Soto. Some of the other girls will have to step up and fill their shoes. My concern is the number of slap hitters vs. power hitters on this team.

In 2001 the Lady Cajuns opened 0-2 to ULM and went on to win 51 games.

No need to panic . . .yet

Aww shucks, didn't even realize LSU already had two losses. Oh well, maybe the baseball team will pick up the slack. Did UL return that ridiculous pitcher from last season? I don't follow softball, but it seems like one dominant pitcher can bring you a long way in the sport.

Yeah...we returned both dominant pitchers from last year. Both Brignac and Bourgios are Sophmores.

Brignac didn't pitch this weekend though. hoping all is well and that they're just bringing her along slowly. Donna B was lights out this weekend. They only got to her in her 10th inning of her 2nd game of the weekend. Until then, she was a bulldog. And they only got to her then because of defense. The defense will improve from Sunday and we'll be rocking it out come next weekend.

Ole Miss scored three earned runs in the three games and won two out of three.
