  1. UL Baseball Ragin' Cajuns To Host Fan Day Saturday


      UL – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team will hold its annual Fan Day Saturday, Feb. 14, at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. Gates will open at 11 a.m. for the free event.

    The first 500 fans to enter the front gates of "The Tigue" will receive complimentary hot dogs and Coca-Cola products, and free autograph books will be available while supplies last. Fans will also be able to pick up Ragin’ Cajuns baseball posters, pocket schedules and special Ragin’ Cajuns Valentine’s Day candies, courtesy the UL Athletic Department. The concession stand will also be open during the festivities.

    Fans will get their first up-close look at this season’s Ragin’ Cajuns team during an autograph and picture session that will last until noon. In addition to current student-athletes, former Cajuns and current professional players will also be on hand to sign autographs and take photos.

    At noon, the Cajuns will hold their Home Run Hitting Contest, followed by the Fan Day Intrasquad Game at 1 p.m.

    Louisiana will open the 2009 regular season when it hosts national power Nebraska for a weekend series beginning Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at “The Tigue”.

      With the start of UL's baseball season only six days away, Cajun fans can get their first official look at the 2009 team today.

    UL will hold its annual Fan Day today at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. Gates will open for the free event at 11 a.m. There will be a free autograph and picture session including current and former Cajuns until noon.

    At noon, UL will hold its Home Run Hitting Contest. That will be followed by the Fan Day Intrasquad Game at 1 p.m.

    With the chance of rain increasing, does anyone know if there are alternative plans if mother nature spoils the fan day. Move to the indoor facility?

    I wasn't about to make it out there today..Anybody want to comment on what happened, who looked good, etc,etc...

    I only stayed through the derby. Hawkins and Griffin were hitting some BOMBS! Also, the team went back to the plain hats.

    didnt stay for much other than a few innings but hitting looked a bit better.

    i thought i did.. (smiles) .. monday the 16th of feb .. the snote will have for the first time..! the newest 3rd base coach in the program on the show at 2:00 - 2:30-ish pm .. anthony babineux .. i am "so pleased" that he has agreed to do this thru the end of the cajun baseball season..
