UL - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns head soccer coach Scot Wieland announced his 2009 signing class. The class is made up of six players from around the country. The class stretches from the southwest coast of California to the southeast coast of Florida. The class is full of great student/athletes with great skill inside and outside the classroom.

The signing class consists of: Brooke Perry (Lafayette, La.), Maci Andrus (Lafayette, La.), Kayla Henrie (Newport Beach, Cali.), Dani Presley (Flower Mound, Texas), Delania McGee (Friendswood, Texas) and Lauren Berlingo (Wellington, Fla.).

Perry a 5'7 midfielder played for the Cajun Soccer Club.

Wieland on Brooke Perry – "Brooke is a great athlete with a lot of versatility and an enormous amount of raw talent. She has above average speed and a knack for winning 50/50 balls. With her superior mobility and fitness level, I expect Brooke to make an impact in the middle of the field for us next year."

Andrus is a 5-2 forward who also played for the Cajun Soccer Club.

Wieland on Maci Andrus – "Maci's quick and impressive ACL recovery this year to get her ready in time to finish her high school season is a testament to the kind of work ethic that she has, she loves the game and will do what it takes make her team better. She has explosive speed and is very crafty in and around the eighteen yard box. Maci will be a great addition to our offense next season."

Henrie is a 5'10 center midfielder who played with the Slammers Soccer Club in California.

Wieland on Kayla Henrie – "Kayla will bring in a wealth of experience from playing at a high level most of her life in southern California, her technical skill and nose for the goal along with her 5-10 stature will make her a nice addition to the midfield and cause her to be a target player on corners and set pieces. She is a very smart tactical player with great vision and will look to compete for serious playing time in the center midfield."

Presley is a 5'8 forward. She played with club team Dallas Texas

Wieland on Dani Presley – "Dani comes from one of the premier soccer clubs in the country. She not only played the forward position but had experience as a backup goal keeper. She is a very athletic and still very raw as a forward, which is exciting for a coach because I know how talented she is at this point and see the potential ahead of her. She has great size and that competitive attitude as an offensive player that you want in a college soccer player. I expect Dani to compete right away at the forward position in 2009."

Delaina McGee is 5'9 forward from the Eclipse Soccer Club in Houston.

Wieland on Delaina McGee – "Delaina will bring that "bull in the china shop" mentality to our offense next year, she has tremendous work rate up top and impressed me because of her speed and tenacity. Because of Delaina's size and work rate she has that no nonsense attitude and I expect her to bring a big impact to our scoring threat next season."

Lauren Berlingo is a 5'10 goal keeper who played with Team Boca Soccer Club in Florida.

Wieland on Lauren Berlingo – "Lauren is a very talented goal keeper with great size and leadership. Tactically she reads the game very well and her distribution skills will allow her to get the ball out quickly to her offense. Lauren's experience and vocal ability to lead a defense will allow her to compete for the starting job in net next season."

Coach Wieland added, "Together this class is strong and will contend as one of the top classes in our short ten year history and we are excited that they have decided to join our Ragin Cajun family. When you bring in young ladies like these who are great students/athletes, great examples to their peers and come from strong supportive families they can only help your program to continue to go in the right direction."
