_ Byron Blake had some off-the-field issues that would have concerned any coaching staff. The Cajuns decided it was better to part ways.

FYI, Fitzpatrick has not committed to FAU. Wrote about it in my blog on Saturday. I talked with him on Saturday. He was going to commit to New Mexico, then Miami called after one of its TE pledges decommitted. He is still weighing his options. _

Austin can't make up his mind! He text me Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm, telling me he had committed to FAU and asking to update his profile. I did so, and sent him a text later wishing him good luck and told him I see him at Cajun Field in the fall. He replied later, thanking me for everthing. So, this is a surprise.

I think it's been a good one. Brooks and Fleming had surgery and will do individual work in the spring. There will be a lot of depth at LB next season with Brooks, Fleming, McCoy, Zanders, etc. back.

I'm interested to see who takes over at SS for Derik Keyes and who gets the No. 1 spot at QB and RB. My guess is Brad McGuire will start at QB and Yobes Walker will get most of the reps at RB.
