The public is invited to attend LITE's February open house any time between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Open house activities will include a prototype visualization of a rural coastal area of Louisiana based on LIDAR data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Other activities will include experiencing virtual fly-throughs of a 675-foot pipe-laying vessel, an oil rig decommissioning and one of the Wonders of the World.
LITE 101 will feature an explanation of how 3-D works and information on the variety of services that LITE provides. Participants also are given the chance to drive through several models on display by manipulating the controls themselves.
