I'm thinking that was the problem in his mind...the "refs" had left. Right or wrong, he was expecting to see them at the scorers table looking at a monitor to see a replay. Doesn't excuse his verbal loss of control, but I'm not sure there are many coaches around who would not have expected the same thing out of the refs and been unhappy to learn they had left the court.
He would have been in serious trouble acting like that to a ref... and that is partly why he ramped it up. I can understand his disappointment and even outrage at not having the officials validate the shot via video. Something strikes me strange that he was not dealt with to finality by the referees. I wonder if when he started his tirade, if a referee said "THEY" don't have a monitor... or something like that... and just walked off.
He seemed to go off on the Cajundome for not having a monitor. If the referees agree to call the came without one... that is a Sunbelt/NCAA referee issue. He has no beef with the Cajundome or UL... he has a beef with the Sunbelt/NCAA. And I think he should march his hot-headed butt over to their offices and continue his tirade.
You might be 100% correct, but he is mentally challenged if the refs told him no monitor was available and he was still demanding to see something from them that was not possible for them to do. Not a good thing to do to guys who still have games to call for your team.
Well, his going off or continuing to go off after he learned that a monitor review was not possible was where he lost me. That's the time when you swallow your pride and take your team off the court. From that point on, he reminded me of the jerks you see at airport counters verbally jabbing at the women working there when a flight has been cancelled. As if those women have any control over what takes off and what doesn't. .![]()
Actually it went like this. The goal here was to sound as subtle as possible without being subtle at all...
Commissioner,
Can SBC fans be confident that the antics of Ronnie Arrow and his staff will be dealt with in a timely manner? I’m sure his appalling actions violate the SBC’s Code of Conduct and will result in no less than a 1 game suspension. But then again, if he just agreed to follow the Code, either verbally or via a vague memorandum, and never really signed an actual document stating that he’s contractually obligated to act responsibly, then he’ll probably be able to just appeal the suspension and win, leaving the SBC powerless to defend its authority.

I hope that you agree that such conduct should not be tolerated.
Just saw the replay for the first time...I would have been just as ____ed, but I would have bit my tongue early on. My letter would have been written and sent before I arrived back home...
