_ Couple of things, and mind you I was not at the game.

1. Ronnie Arrow is one of the best coaches in the Belt, if not the best. Cry baby, is harsh. As someone who coaches small kids in basketball I could understand his fustration if he truely believed it was a missed call. I would expect any coach to react to losing on a last second shot, especially if he felt it was a wrong call.'

2. As far as the video review goes, according to the advertiser this morning. "Unsure whether Daigle had gotten the 35-footer off in time, South Alabama coach Ronnie Arrow demanded the officials review the play. NCAA rules, though, state that a play can only be reviewed if there is a monitor located on a designated courtside table." _

With all respect to you Dave, I was at the game, you were not. I'm sure he sleeps very well at night knowing that he is one of the best coaches in the sunbelt. BUT he looked like a p!ssing and moaning high school coach last night at the cajundome. It wasn't just after the game either. At any point in the game you could look over at the bench and he looked like he was about to lose his ____e at any moment. So with that said, cry baby maybe isn't harsh enough. He acted like a gigantic p*ssy last night. Now that would be a harsh thing to say. Cry baby, not so much. If the shoe fits.

I talked to one of the South AL players and he agreed with me that Ronnie Arrow is a CRYBABY and gets frustrated listening to him constantly whine during games. I was by the scorers table after the game and heard many F-bombs come out of his mouth and one of their assistant coaches bowed-up to a female UP, what a real tough guy! The problem is they began to celebrate a win before the game was over and it came back and bit them on their _____es!!! I also saw that FAU coach Mike Jarvis has been suspended for 1 game for getting 3 technical fouls the other night against ULM..........Why are SBC basketball coaches such BABIES!!!!!?????

Sorry, I don't believe a word of this post. If a player on the team mouthed off against one of his coaches and word got back to the coach that you told an OPPOSING TEAM FAN THAT HE IS A CRY BABY you would be talking about being benched for the remainder of the year, and possibly being put off the team. I'll give this post credence when you post the name of the player so I can Email the coach and let him know that one of his players needs to be suspended for insubordination.

Last week I made another post about coach pay at LSU where I actually called LSU to find out where the coaches pay came from. I love that we can be anonymous on this board, but saying that a player was bad mouthing his coach after a game is ludicrous. I'll do the same this time and serve as a fact checker on behalf off the USA coach.

I can think of a couple:
1) The refs are terrible. Missing a call happens to everyone, but some of these guys miss more than they get right.
2) Conferences like the SBC can make or break a coach. If you are unsuccessful, you probably will have a hard time getting another D1 coaching job.

_ Refs did not look at the replay as their was no courtside monitor and they are not obligated to look at it in such a situation.

I would think that they would not be obligated if a monitor was not on the scorer's table.......what is there to look at? The ref's should have just walked off. And if it is true that he spent all his time at the scorer's table lashing out with the F-boom he should be suspended.

I saw that somebody was filming that whole thing with the South Al coach. I wish that the people who were not there last night could see it so they could know first hand that he is a Foul Mouthed Cry Baby

He is a HUGE crybaby. Like someone said earlier, he kept running onto the court, roaming outside his little coach's box, throwing things around (even throwing papers onto the court) etc. We were all surprised he never got a technical.

As for after the game, he just got worse, it also seemed like some of the players took after him a little bit, no. 3 in particular. We decided to play the fight song for them, then Do What Ya Wanna. For some reason, they didn't like it.

Did anyone else catch the fact that UL's Chief of Police had to, along with two of his officers, escort the coach back to the locker rooms? When it gets to that point, that's not getting wrapped up in the game, that's taking it too far.

There are two thoughts I would like for us to take from last night's game. If you are hoping that this win will springboard the Cajuns into a miracle run, think on these factors. Half the teams we will be playing are pretty decent defensively. The easiest person to guard is the one who will not pass the ball. If you look at our offense when we are in a half court set, the success comes when players are moving without the ball and passes are short, crisp and often. When the players get open looks within 15 feet, that opens up the 20-footers. This is when the Cajuns get their leads. The leads vanish when they begin their one-on-one moves, noboby is moving, defensive players collapse on the ball handler and he tries to shoot over two defenders. Whether the orders are coming from the bench to not go inside or the ball handlers on the court have no confidence in any "inside player" (Barr, Gary, Batiste, Adeife, Wallace), when they shoot all of their shots from 15+ feet, they make it easier for the opponent to come back. They need to make the effort to shoot within 15 feet by passing, not by dribble penetration, and they should continue to score. We'll see if they (players and coaches) can figure this out and execute it.

You know, our animosity with South Alabama, in my estimation, had somewhat died down over the last few years, with Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State starting to really come to the forefront. For the 2000+ who use to come to these games and weren't there last night, you missed the reason why South Al was our #1 nemesis when we first got into the league. It brought back to my memory the days of Tim Floyd @ UNO, when he would constantly be in the officials face, chewing on him, looking for a call. The only thing that was missing was the two steps on the court that Floyd would always do.
Ronnie Arrow's actions during the game, and even more so after, will bring back the animosity Cajun fans have had toward South Alabama and will recreate the intensity of the rivalry that had taken a back seat to other programs in the conference. A potentially huge mistake on Arrow's part. Time will tell.

I agree....this is good to see again. Our rivalry with USA has really died down these last few years and this may have been the spark it needed. Once they get a football team I could see them being our biggest rivalry. Until then they are just a team that I don't want in our conference. No football program, then I don't want you in our conference. This goes for Denver too! They just don't contribute enough.

While passing behind the scorer's table on my way out, I too wondered why the Ref's didn't review it. Of course, at the time, I didn't know that it wasn't possible.

I can't believe that nobody's mentioned the other guy that was a part of this. This Coker guy was acting just as naughty as the coach. He was yelling at the USA SIDs or radio guys or whoever it is that sits right by their bench, to "get 'such and such' on the phone" and "call 'so and so' too" (of course talking about various SBC officials). He was highly upset. I could see if these guys were that upset if the Ref's REFUSED to review the call. But if I were one of them, as ____ed as I would be, once someone told me that a review wasn't possible, I would have probably moved on.

I would also like to congratulate the UP's and the guy that Arrow was yelling at (I think it was John Dugas) for keeping their cool and keeping things under control. The two guys from USA were in their faces, jumping around, yelling, etc for several minutes, and none of our guys let it get to them.

About Adeife...At some point in the second half, he and some other guy got into it a bit under the goal. Nothing crazy happened, but I'm sure it made things a little more intense for the rest of the game, and maybe stirred up some back and forth trash talking between the teams. But another thing nobody's mentioned is the fact that after USA made their 3-pointer towards the end, they thought they had it won, and 2-3 of their players ran to the middle of the court, towards the UL bench, and were boasting and running their mouths. Adiefe didn't like it, and stood up and started jawing back, before getting held back...which is exactly what I would expect one of our players to do if some other team was pulling that BS on their court. So, when Daigle made that shot, the team was extra happy, and Adiefe running over to their bench and jumping on the chairs was nothing more than a bit of "Scoreboard". And, he did it right...he didn't touch a USA player or coach, he didn't get in anyone's face, and he didn't trash talk to them. He just ran over there, jumped up on the chairs, and started celebrating with the students. I thought it was great.

plain and simple, Ronnie Arrow is a DISGRACE. The WHOLE game, EVERY time I saw him get in the face and yell at a player, they had their heads turned away. I applaud those players for ignoring that jack***. I would have wanted to punch his lights out for doing something as classless and abusive like that to me. He was a jack*** the whole game, whining about everything he could. His asst. coach slamming stuff down on the chair. And don't even get me started about his post-game antics. Yeah yeah yeah, I understand that if this was our coach doing this, we might think differently. But you know what, we're not in the middle of a situation like this, so we can think more objectively since he's not our coach. The FACT is that Ronnie Arrow is a disgrace, and if he is not reprimanded for his actions, I will be sorely disappointed with the SBC/NCAA leadership.

Why wouldn't you believe this? I've talked some of our own players who don't like Coach Lee and his coaching methods.
