There is a HUGE monitor hanging above the court for all of us to see. And it was very clear. We Got Chicken!!
Who knows? I have also seen the monitor used during games that weren't on TV, they use the camera footage from behind the goal and a camera on each side of center court. Not sure why it wasn't there. If Arrow is so upset present a case to the NCAA and make it mandatory for all NCAA D-1 games to have functioning courtside monitors for review. Imagine the outrage had the refs not counted it. I agree that they should have been there but they weren't and after Coach Arrow had seen the still on the screen which was on the screen for about 1 minute and in video you can see Coach Arrow did see the still camera shot. I think he was more upset because his boys hit a desperation shot with 2.4 seconds and they thought it was over.
FYI: He made it in time, they showed a still frame on the jumbo tron after the game that showed he clearly released the ball with .1 on the clock.
As I said in my previous post, they do and have had them for non televised games. I don't know why they did not set them up. They picked a hell of a game to leave the monitors in a storage room.
Interesting. I could just about imagine what this place would have been like had they waved the basket off only to later find out the shot left his hand in time. If you have the capability it seems like you would utilize it to ensure that everyone in a situation similar to this one receives a fair shake.
I am big time in favor of having the monitor, or even requiring it by the NCAA. I am like you, can you imagine how we would have felt had the ref waved off the shot? Thankfully, the correct call was made. Arrow was twisted the entire game, too much happened to flip-flop emotions right at the end, but the guy just doesn't have any ability to keep his emotions in check.
It is unfortunate that the refs did not stick around to catch his antics. If this would have happened anytime other than the end of the game, the guy would have been in some serious trouble. He is going to step in his own way sooner than later, and he is going to pay a price. I've seen it before... and he is destined for bad outcomes... whether he is a good coach or not. This kind of guy gets into it with ADs, assistants, players and sometimes his own fans. Trust me... if he or USA doesn't use this as a wake-up call... we will be hearing about Arrow and NCAA actions sooner than later.
Well why don't they use the speed gun for SBC games? That was brought on by one coach in the league. So Mr. Arrow _____ and raise hell and they might but the monitor on the table for you.
