I just noticed that the LOUISIANA Ragin' Cajuns football roster is approx. 84% men from Louisiana. It is just a guess, but I'll bet there are no Louisiana FBS universities that do better than that.
We are truly LOUISIANA's Team.

I like it. It helps get the locals out to the stadium and provides coverage in all regions of the state. We have some tremendous athletes and programs in the state.
Hey Jay, donchoo tink da Cajuns would have more fans if dey recrooted more local players from da area? I'll hang up an listen
That's the % I was hoping we would get to, when Hud arrived. We had a lot of Louisiana players with the last couple of coaches too, but not having the same level of talent. We are getting better athletes from our home state and that's a very good thing. We are becoming the top option after LSU/SEC, if a Louisiana kid, wants to stay in-state. If you peruse the recruiting sites, you'll see where we now getting commits from LA recruits that have offers from the other LA FBS schools. That really wasn't happening much pre-Hud. Our biggest challenge today are the other BCS schools recruiting LA. Some kids want to move away, some don't. If we can keep Hud here for the next 4-5 years and assuming we move into a higher profile conference during this time-frame, we will be option 1A in this state. We will never be option 1, but we've come a long way in a short amount of time and for this we should be forever grateful to Hud and his staff, no matter where or when he leaves. The only way we could think about challenging No. 1, is to be in the B12, and frankly that's a pipe dream, IMO. It would take the perfect storm happening at the perfect time, and that just doesn't happen. Maybe in nature, but not when people are involved!
