_ The RCAF should have been put into place over a year ago when the economy was really good. Now the economy in our area is in transition and people are starting to get a little nervous. What the heck are we waiting for? Why are we sooooo sloooooow to put out something easy like this. Are we going to wait for the economy to get really bad? I just don't get it??? _

I can't blame them for waiting because they wanted to make sure to do it right. Putting it together right after the concept was announced would have guaranteed it's failure IMO. It sounds like they're doing their homework. I do agree it probably could have been done sooner.

The economic slowdown is an unlucky occurrence that will no doubt affect the money contributed.

However, I still think it's RIDICULOUS to not announce it at the signing bash when all your main boosters are there. Hopefully that is what happens.

Except for a couple early enrollees the new recruits will not be there.

I would like to see a nice presentation announcing the start of the RCAF and a new era in Cajun sports while she is there. She might be impressed by that and let us donate to such a cause.

Formal rollout of the RCAF won't be until later in Feb. It may be mentioned in passing at the recruiting function with a provision for folks to sign up if they are interested. Take your wife to the press conference that will be part of the rollout later in the month if you want to get her excited about something.

People have been mentioning 2/4 as a day some big announcement will come out. Where is this suppose to take place and what should we expect?

I'd assume at the recruiting day bash, and I'm hoping (probably against hope) that the announcement is either final plans for baseball/softball upgrades or new athletic dorms. That said, there may be nothing. Who knows.

I'm not holding my breath. I don't expect much more than the announcement of the 2009 recruiting class, which is what this day is all about.
