What I recall about Tech, and it has been a few years since I have venutred up there..

No Indoor Facility, dont know about their weight room, their stadium reminded me of a Texas High School stadium, and I have seen maybe 25,000 in the best of days...

Those are not facts.. just my view... again for those really in the know and without all the emotion, what is a valid comparison of what we and they offer??? _
Our facilities are better but what does it matter? They took 10 3 star players and we only have 1. Apparently Tech at least this year is much more attractive than UL.

How about a list of names and a credible source.

Its not 10, it is 7. The source is Rivals.

One final thought. If we had Tech(LATECH) recruiting class, everyone here would be going crazy. We can debate until the cows come home on why, but the reality is they are doing about as good as a non-BCS team can do.

And I can careless who you played flag football with or where, it doesn't mean much in this argument...I could have said Tulsa where they barely average 20k or an endless amount of other teams. There are only a hand full of teams that have astronomical attendance figures. La Tech had a better season than us last year but there program is not that far ahead of ours, regardless of what many may think. They are having a good recruiting season, oh well, if everyone would stop worrying about what Tech, ULM, or even lsu is doing and worry about us we might get somewhere. _
I'm making Gumbo w/ Brown Rice if that makes you feel better. You are more than welcome to come and eat ol' buddy!! LOL

It's 3 on the LaTex Scout site.

We had a 4 star sign last year and nobdy went crazy.

1 four star... that never played. How many three stars did we have in that class? (the answer is zero). That explains the lack of supreme excitement for the previous class.

If we had multiple three stars HoustonCajun, RC90, etc would not be posting realistic/negative things, they'd be crowing just like we all would.

Let's say we do have success this year. And go to a bowl. Maybe we might even win the bowl. I'll bet you anything we'll get a couple of 3 star recruits. Will we not be excited for this jump in perceived stature? Will we still call the star system "BS"?

That 4 Star guy was gone before signing day! And if I remember correctly we were pretty excited when he verbally committed.
Also, you asked for a credible source and I gave it.

I agree and thats why I asked... Since no one responded to a softball post, I'll make a purposely controversial comment and let that stir some things..

    1. We live in a much larger community with much more to offer career wise than Ruston

    2. We have superior facilities

    3. We have a much larger fan base even when putting predominantly inferior products (talking football here) for over a decade..

Yet Tech out recruits and out plays us.. So why is that?

MHO is that it is due to a laize fare attitude among the administration (not counting T-Joe... he gets a mulligan for a year) that is more than satisfied with the status-quo.. that has no ambition for the program beyond mid level in the worst conference in America... That will try to sell us on the fact that we out recruited Nicholls and Southeasten as a victory... That tells us that getting our brains kicked in by the BCS is "normal" when we look around and see others competing.... that will use the tired old "we dont have any money" excuse when others go out and make things happen for their university (like LaTech)... that will accept losing with a shrug in the major sports...

That is why recruits will choose others that are on our level and why until we make wholesale changes we are stuck with our lot in life.... Heres hoping that T-Joe is planning something big..........

Ok guess I have to go write my checks for baseball and Softball season tickets now

OT Jaron Odom was a 3 star. Surely, when all was said and done, kids like Dwight Bentley, LaDarius Green and Yobes Walker were 3 stars. If not, then I hereby deem them 3 stars apiece.

I hear you but my point with the 4 star (who created a buzz but no insanity) was like you said - he never played. He could a been a galaxy or a constellation and it didn't matter. Fenroy was a 1 or 2 star depending upon who you consulted but I'll take another Fenroy over anyone on anybody else's list no matter how many stars they have.

Sigh, I guess I can't qualify for the title "astronomer" until about 2012-2013.

I agree. Having media darlings like Buffalo and their coach Turner Gill and Ball State's undefeated run really helps your perception. Getting 5 teams in your conference into Bowl games is big BUT the MAC didn't win any of them. At least the SBC was 1-1.
