1 four star... that never played. How many three stars did we have in that class? (the answer is zero). That explains the lack of supreme excitement for the previous class.
If we had multiple three stars HoustonCajun, RC90, etc would not be posting realistic/negative things, they'd be crowing just like we all would.
Let's say we do have success this year. And go to a bowl. Maybe we might even win the bowl. I'll bet you anything we'll get a couple of 3 star recruits. Will we not be excited for this jump in perceived stature? Will we still call the star system "BS"?
I agree and thats why I asked... Since no one responded to a softball post, I'll make a purposely controversial comment and let that stir some things..
1. We live in a much larger community with much more to offer career wise than Ruston
2. We have superior facilities
3. We have a much larger fan base even when putting predominantly inferior products (talking football here) for over a decade..
Yet Tech out recruits and out plays us.. So why is that?
MHO is that it is due to a laize fare attitude among the administration (not counting T-Joe... he gets a mulligan for a year) that is more than satisfied with the status-quo.. that has no ambition for the program beyond mid level in the worst conference in America... That will try to sell us on the fact that we out recruited Nicholls and Southeasten as a victory... That tells us that getting our brains kicked in by the BCS is "normal" when we look around and see others competing.... that will use the tired old "we dont have any money" excuse when others go out and make things happen for their university (like LaTech)... that will accept losing with a shrug in the major sports...
That is why recruits will choose others that are on our level and why until we make wholesale changes we are stuck with our lot in life.... Heres hoping that T-Joe is planning something big..........
Ok guess I have to go write my checks for baseball and Softball season tickets now![]()
