I don't know about you but I think Utah proved they deserved it. They might have been the best team in the country last year.

Utah had an amazing year and if there was a playoff we would find out if they were indeed the best team. However, while we can only speculate in the current BS system, I think they were not as good as Florida. There were several close games against low level competition that in SEC would have been losses. That is the thing with the SEC, even in a down year most of the teams are capable of beating the best teams in conference if they have a down week. For example, Utah's close win againts New Mexico is a performance that had it occured against 10 of 12 SEC teams would have been a loss. In the SEC all it takes is being at B+ level game to get beat. While Utah had great year and beat everyone they faced (which is all they could do), including 4 or so teams that were ranked, they were not at their A game every week and did not have to deal with the pressure of having to be on their A game every week, as well as dealing with injuries from tough games every week (would Utah have the depth to handle that?). Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, and probably at least 5 more teams could have gone undefeated playing Utah's schedule and no one would have been surprised. The biggest win against Alabama was no doubt a great accomplishment and I don't buy into the theory that Alabama was not up or the game, but Alabama was overrated and would have been an underdog against any of the top 5 to 8 teams in the country. So the Alabama win just proved that Utah belonged with the big boys, not necessarily that they were the best of the big boys. Too bad there is not a playoff. It is a travesty that we don't get to see it play out on the field. If Utah had won championship in 16 game playoff (the 2nd, 3rd and final rounds would have been a lot more difficult than Alabama), that would be something we would have been talking about for years. Were we robbed of that?
AHHHH.....the BCS. Something the SBC may never get to see. GET ME OUT OF THIS CONFERENCE!!!!!
