Yes, it's true. Heard from KB just after 5 pm.
Ex-@Cajunbasketball G Kevin Brown tells me he's committed to UNO as grad transfer. 5.5 ppg/2 rpg/35 3s as R-JR. TX native was FR at Tulane.

I think Kevin Brown will play a lot at UNO, more so than he would here due to the abilities of some of the incoming guys. He is familiar with the city from his time at Tulane. He is also a good student and they probably have a graduate program he is interested in. I wish him well. He represented us well in his time here. It is unfortunate the injury greatly limited his playing time during his junior year.
pizzle!
Best of luck to him. Can't blame him with this being his last season and us having a glut of new guards that may have played over him. The guy wants to play and he's earned that chance.
Sometimes it is a player’s choice, and sometimes players are encouraged to transfer during their exit meeting with coaches. Kevin Brown is a very impressive young man; smart, very bright and level-headed. I'm sure he will be a huge asset to the young UNO team on the floor and off. But I have to admit I gave this one a huge WTF, when I first heard the news. It's even stranger that it seems like Kevin got optioned out. His D was a huge part of our Sun Belt championship. Hope he has a successful final season for New Orleans Univ.
Something positive to think about (from the 'man, that’s impressive,' perspective) is that Kevin Brown will be going to his third college in four years and he already has his degree.
Yep, could not have said it any better Turbine, Thanks KB and the best to him, wishing he stays level headed and prospers!
I don't think Kevin Brown was optioned out at UL. This was strictly his decision. He would still have been on scholarship had he stayed. I think it simply came down to a realization that he would likely not play more next year here than he did this past season. This is due to the quality of the incoming players and Kasey Shepherd returning from injury. At UNO, he will be one of their key guys and he wanted that experience for his college career. Every UL fan wishes him well in his next role.
I am not sure if it will be possible, but he could get a medical redshirt and play another season. He missed most of the season 2 years ago. Kevin is smart and could continue to work on his masters. I wish him all the best.
