    According to the biography George Deaux was a member of the UL (SLI) faculty at the time Toole was an instructor in 1961 and he had a book published by Simon and Schuster. The first publishing company Toole sent his manuscript to was Simon and Schuster.

    that would be Mr. Byrnes--think that is the spelling---who said plaids, stripes, solids in any color don't match??? What a great guy!!!

    Thanks fun I ended up buying it and just started reading it. I am having trouble putting it down.

    Not a one...that's why I am having trouble putting it down because I don't see how it can be so good without pictures
