Calm down my man, seems like you getting a little emotional. I was answering the other guys comment about Butch that's it. Yes I do believe he's a good coach. You believe what you want to believe and I'll do the same. Just because him not being a good coach is the popular trend on this board dosen't mean that is a correct assessment.

If he goes fine, no sweat off my back. I hope the best for yall University. I like UL basketball and hope it succeeds.

I wonder if Lee got fired and Labato was not hired by the new coach, would Gradnigo leave? He could still transfer and play his senior year somewhere else.

Something needs to be done this season. We can't afford to let Lee hang around. Barr, Bloom, Daigle, Gary, Johnson, Lago, McCoy, Roberson, Wallace, and Dison (if he doesn't get a medical redshirt) will all be seniors next year. That means we need to get a coach in before next season starts so he can begin recruiting for the following season. I also don't want to waste another year from Gradnigo and Bureau. I was one of the people who did not bash Lee for letting Milsap walk but could this guy have been better under another coach?

I agree with what someone wrote earlier. Coach Lee is not the only coach who can keep kids on the right path. I think it won't be as hard as people think to find a good coach with dicipline.

    BUTCH PIERRE for coach! _
Dison, Gary, and Daigle will technically be seniors next year. However, in reality they will be juniors as they are making academic progress. If Gradnigo does transfer, he will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out one year. If the early signee does not come here, he will have to sit out a year before he can play elsewhere. I don't expect that to occur. Personally, I don't expect many players to leave if a coaching change is made. This happens regularly and once the players meet the new guy, they generally give him a chance.

Thanks captain obvious. I'm so glad that you are sharing your "source"-ness with us. Since you are so "connected" to the program why don't you give us a little bit more "inside" info. _
Well, you want to throw out your "sources" out there like you got connections, so I'll throw mine in....would you like numbers cause I got those too? Dont get mad..just throwing in my opinion about Lee just like everybody else on this board.

I don't have to have reliable sources. I am the source and know for a fact that UL don't pay up to par with the pay scale of coaches in their conference especially in basketball on both the men and women's side. As a matter of fact Southeastern, Northwestern State, and Southern University coaches salaries are higher and their conferences have a lower RPI than the Sunbelt. So...........winning first starts by opening up those pocket books and being competitive. _
We are not paying Coach Evans anything. He was not fired, he left voluntarily when he got the job at San Fransisco. We also don't have to pay Cyprien anything as that lawsuit was dismissed recently. You are correct in that we will have to pay more than we do now to attract a quality coach when it comes time for us to make a change.

I wasn't talking about Cyprien. I was talking about the Football Coach who won the lawsuit against UL Lafayette the one before the coach they have now. Even tho Evan's left voluntarily he still settled on the rest of the payment of his total contract also the same as the previous Athletic director.

I believe Cyprien was being paid 190K compared to Lee's 150K. Getting over 200K should be no problem. I think you can find a good coach at that price.

    I second this statement.

It's a shame that all yall care about is just winning. I know winning is a part of the sport but Lee has definately done it the right way. If yall want to go into the past then just go ahead and fire him and get another Jesse Evans that cheats, recruits knuckle headed transfer D1 athletes that won't be anything in life, and end up in the same situation UL Lafayette is coming out of. The players were so out of control when Evans was there the coaching staff had to follow these kids around to make sure they were going to class and out of trouble on Sat nights after games! Are you serious? Evans leaves and go to San Francisco and does the same knuckle headed recruiting and cheating which landed him in trouble with that university and the NCAA as well and he was forced to leave, but publically resigned to cover it up. So you reak what you sew fellas.

    Peace! _
So let me get this straight: there are only 2 choices then,
    1) a losing basketball team
    20 a winner who cheats.

See, this is where you and I differ: I think there's a third option. A winning basketball team, done the right way. I pick door #3.

    Peace!

You see you want to mock me then when I blast ya, you going to get mad. I'll leave you and this subject alone. Yall fans remind me of my school Mississippi State. Previous coach fouls it up the program, replaced him with a good coach at a cheap price, that coach turns the program around in the right direction (with less scholarships than a Division IAA school), win a couple of games with second tier athletes, and he slips up and then you throw him to the wolves like he never did anything to help mold the school into an actual contender again.

    Just a shame.

I find it funny that people with ZERO credibility on this board come and tell us we are wrong for wanting a pathetic coach fired! Lee is a good man from what I know but his coaching ability is sorry. What is even more amazing is how anyone can defend the sorry product that is on the court.

Maybe he does know the X's and O's but he just sucks at managing a program? I don't see how anyone can be satisfied with the current product being put on the court.
