If yall want to go into the past then just go ahead and fire him and get another Jesse Evans that cheats, recruits knuckle headed transfer D1 athletes that won't be anything in life, and end up in the same situation UL Lafayette is coming out of. The players were so out of control when Evans was there the coaching staff had to follow these kids around to make sure they were going to class and out of trouble on Sat nights after games! Are you serious? Evans leaves and go to San Francisco and does the same knuckle headed recruiting and cheating which landed him in trouble with that university and the NCAA as well and he was forced to leave, but publically resigned to cover it up. So you reak what you sew fellas.

BWWAAAA! UL should be like other schools and just worry about graduation rates!
I also like your transfer quote. What about Roberson and Barr. Face it. Lee is terrible and has not moved the program forward.

Are we getting kudos from the media and basketball fans because our players are staying out of trouble off the court while we lose on the court? Show me a program that doesn't care about winning.

You present this as only having two roads to travel each being the extreme. There is a third road that most programs follow which is bring in kids of decent character who can also play the game. And of course, the coach has to be able to coach and motivate them to win.

Like I say before, reak what you sew! Go ahead and do what yall did before and see where it ends up. That's all I have to say and will not argue with you. This school is not an elite school and the NCAA will splatter your nuts against the wall if they catch yall slipping. Watch!! Let the man do his job and clean up your program.

    Its "reap what you sow".

Read the posts again. We are not advocating going back to recruiting the Jessie Evans days. We are talking about finding a coach who can win the right way. That is the big challenge facing the administration.

I don't want to get technical, but its "reap" not "reak." Like the grim reaper. Since you reiterated that point, I felt it necessary to point out.

Also, do you think that no other coach can keep student-athletes on the right path. It's not like Lee is the only guy in the nation that can do it. He has done a great job with keeping the guys out of trouble, but other coaches have done the same.

    Thanks for correcting me.

No I'm not saying there's no other coach that can do this. Lee is a good coach, his only problem is that he's a very tough on the discipline side. He wants you to play defense and kids don't like to that these days. His no nonsense attitude maybe a little too much for those players to handle. Other than that he's good especially what he had to work with when he first took over. Don't you think?

If it's his time to go and the fans want him to go, wel.....but he is a wayy better coach than people give him credit for.

Well if there is a new coach for next season I'm sure a few people will transfer and free up some scholarships. If Lee leaves, we not even get this guy that we signed already. I wonder if Lee got fired and Labato was not hired by the new coach, would Gradnigo leave? He could still transfer and play his senior year somewhere else.

Something needs to be done this season. We can't afford to let Lee hang around. Barr, Bloom, Daigle, Gary, Johnson, Lago, McCoy, Roberson, Wallace, and Dison (if he doesn't get a medical redshirt) will all be seniors next year. That means we need to get a coach in before next season starts so he can begin recruiting for the following season. I also don't want to waste another year from Gradnigo and Bureau. I was one of the people who did not bash Lee for letting Milsap walk but could this guy have been better under another coach?

I agree with what someone wrote earlier. Coach Lee is not the only coach who can keep kids on the right path. I think it won't be as hard as people think to find a good coach with dicipline.

    BUTCH PIERRE for coach!

NO I don't think! He is the worst coach in D1 basketball period! And if this team is disciplined Id hate to see what an undisciplined team looks like.

    Dude get over yourself! LOL.

I doubt Butch Pierre will come to UL because he is still ____ed that yall didn't hire him the first go around when I believe Jesse Evans was hired. Hey...he might have got over it for the opportunity to come back home and coach.

He used to recruit players UL was interested in just so UL won't get them. He also stole Mitchell from St. Martinville at the last min right under yall nose. He's a real butt hole but he is respected in the recruiting field.

UL will have to come harder than that little 100+ thousand contract they are paying Lee to get Butch to come to lafayette that's for sure!
