Thread: The future of Robert Lee

I am so sick of hearing the quote "We have Talent". In my book, if we don't win, there is no talent on this team. Period. Lets talk about trying to win, instead who has more talent.

I don't think there is much of an argument that Lee should go ahead of Bustle. While coach Bustle hasn't taken the next step like everyone was hoping for in his 7 years, he has built a nice base of talent here and they seem like they're continuing to improve ever so slowly. Coach Lee has "talent" which some of you hate to hear but it is a fact so I don't know what to tell you. He has underachieved miserably and even when Bustle lost games to the likes of KSU and Illinois, that team played really well and at a high level. This basketball team has not played like a team except for the ULM win and that is it.They obviously have issues within the team and coach Lee doesn't seem to handle the players real well.

I answered this question yesterday in another thread. I have pasted the answer below. We are 3 and 3 now. I don't know what seed we would be if the season ended today. We do have 5 home games and 7 on the road of the remaining 12.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone makes the conference tournament. Top three seeds get a bye into the quarterfinals in Little Rock. Other ten teams play five games to determine the other five participants in Little Rock. Those five games are played on campus sites with the higher seeds hosting. Seeds are determined by your regular season conference records. Top three seeds are the two division winners and the second place team with the best record.

"It is what it is" is the most "real" statement you'll find on these forums. At the end of the day, it's all we really have - like it or not.

I am quite fond of the statement.

I think they both should geaux!!!! The only reason people perceive that Lee should go first is because he brought a program down, and Bustle brought the program up ever so slightly. If the proverbial "talent" doesn't translate into W's is the talent really present? If the talent is there and we're still losing regularly than Bustle should be head of recruiting not the whole team!!!

We have good athletes on the basketball team...I would argue that we don't have many good basketball players. All of our talent is raw and you can do good things with a few raw players but not with a whole roster full of them.

Who do you see as "good" athletes?

Bureau, gradnago, johnson, gary, and daigle...the first 4 stick out more as athletes. I feel Daigle has more basketball IQ that the others.
