PITTSBURGH (AP) — Arizona and Pittsburgh will play a historic Super Bowl in Tampa in two weeks: a team with a history as bad as any in the NFL against one that will try to win a record sixth title. Pittsburgh opens as a 6 1/2-point favorite. The Steelers topped the Baltimore Ravens 23-14 last night after the Arizona Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles 32-25.

In typical Steel Curtain fashion, the Steelers defense stifled Baltimore and intercepted rookie quarterback Joe Flacco three times in the AFC championship game.

Great to have two former players in the Super Bowl.

The basketball situation is depressing although I wasn't overly optimistic about this season to begin with. Some things just didn't seem right.

Is there anyone in the athletic department close enough to both Ike and Michael to ask them to refer to "The University of Louisiana" when introduced? I know they can say what they want, but why not take a stab at it. It is a lot of national exposure for UL. LA Tech uses Terry Bradshaw every chance they can. Why shouldn't we utilize our alumni?
