Microsoft today finally revealed their plans for their job cuts. Microsoft is planning to reduce the size of their overall workforce by up to 18,000 jobs in the next year. In this, Nokia Devices and Services related professional and factory workers are expected to account for about 12,500 jobs. Microsoft also revealed that they will be annoucing the first 13,000 positions in the next 6 months. Microsoft will offer severance to all employees impacted by these changes, as well as job transition help in many locations. CEO Satya Nadella provided the following statement regarding this, Our workforce reductions are mainly driven by two outcomes: work simplification as well as Nokia Devices and Services integration synergies and strategic alignment.
