Jay tows the company line; he will never give honest commentary about the coach’s shortcomings, it’s the players and even the fans fault.

He started to say something, and Jay went off a second time. RL came back and started rambling about not making enough plays or whatever. He even said something about McCoy potentially making the first FT at the end of the game, which would have put the Cajuns up 1 with 3 seconds left. But, Jay didn't even let that slide.

I've never heard Jay go that hard on a coach on a post-game interview. And, I've never heard RL that silent and speechless. Lee is usually pretty candid and knows where to lay blame. but it seemed like last night, he knew that the same old cliches weren't going to fly any more (and if they're not flying with Jay, there not flying with anyone) because he can't keep saying that the problem is this or that after every single game, when this or that never gets improved. _
Scratch what I said earlier, if this is true I'm impressed. After I dropped a 50 on my wife and I last night at the game I couldn't bring myself to listen to any more excuses. If Jay is turning up the heat than I'm confident a change will be made hopefully soon!

I sit in section 108. The bottom rows are filled with some of the players families. As Coach Lee was walking off the court, several people from this section were yelling at coach Lee about how bad of a coach he is.

I agree with you. Jay's taken plenty of grief this season for the perception that he always gives Coach Lee a pass, but last night was different. He bluntly asked Robert what happened after the game and commented that it looked like we were just standing around and it was "Well, we just didn't make baskets..." I think coach sounded lost. The other disappointing thing was the players quotes in the paper this morning: "Well, I think they just 'wanted it more' than us..." With their record at 6-10, shouldn't they WANT it MORE?!?
We're looking at a long season.

I am curious as to attendance last night. I keep saying Lee is just another Baldwin, i.e. can't coach, dwindling attendance, losing record, poor discipline, dismissing players, etc., etc. Lee said he wouldn't go the JC route, so we went with high school players and a promising class and had to go through a losing season. Now, he has several JC players, has already suspended one from the team, and a guy who is now suspended from his 3rd team, none of them have enough talent to even compete in the lowly SBC, and we continue to lose. And, he was going to take us to the Final Four.

Our once proud basketball tradition is in the tank and has been for a few years now. It is only sinking deeper and deeper. And combined with women's basketball, UL just may have the worse overall basketball program in the country right now. Who would ever have thought that was possible at UL, given our history?

Lets just keep this quote handy over the rest of the season. We will be using this after most games.

I hate to hear that. While I don't think Coach Lee is a qualified D1 coach (and never have), he does seem to be a nice guy and I believe he genuinely cares for his players and truly loves UL and wants nothing more than to win for UL, but he is in over his head. He doesn't deserve to be yelled at and chastised by fans.

I don't know. I wasn't at the game. I was just responding to the other poster who said this happened. If it is true, it is unfortunate.
