
Google is teaming up with Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis – specifically its Alcon eye care division – to bring its smart contact lens to market. Originally unveiled in January, the futuristic lens analyzes the user’s tears to consistently monitor blood glucose levels. Google[x], the team known for its work on ‘moonshot’ projects within Google, will now collaborate with Alcon to develop the lens further. The final product_will require “non-invasive sensors, microchips and other miniaturized electronics” to work accurately and seamlessly at all times.
