What's the deal with Kyle White? I thought he was heavily leaning towards us, and now I see he is a UNT commit. What gives?

O-O-O-O-KAY... I am nothing if not a patient man. Just curious. I did see that we have a number of D-line commits, which is a good thing. I am wondering if perhaps young Mr. White was holding out for a "better deal" and got burned, if he simply preferred Denton to Lafayette. I hope to be there on the 4th to learn about that and all of the other burning questions we as Ragin' Cajun fans have.

I talked with Kyle White the other night. UNT gave him a chance to play DT and right away. UL wanted him at OL. He wanted to play defense, thus the decision.

Kyle didn't have an offer from the Cajuns after admissions found problems with his trancript. After admissions received his transcript, the staff had no choice even after he made a 20 on the ACT. I like him and I hope he does well at UNT. Just not against the Cajuns.

What the heck is going on at Denton? Are they clearing house (on roster that is)?

Dodge has been told to make some changes, both on the coaching staff and roster. He's likely out if things don't turn around this upcoming season.

QB Giovanni Vizza left - he will walk-on at Texas A&M - after getting beaten up for two years. He also saw that Dodge's son, Riley, was going to get a shot at the starting QB job in the spring and would likely win it. Riley is more mobile and able to scramble if need be (but he sure is frail. Not sure he'll be able to take the same beating Vizza has).

Josh, you followed both kids while in Texas. Giovanni had a good arm and decent size, and Dodge put up big numbers in high school. Is Dodge more of a system kid, are do you think he has Div I potential? He may be 5-11 at best.

Both were mid-major QBs out of high school, at best.

Vizza was set to go to Nevada out of Alamo Heights in San Antonio and also had offers from Air Force and Army before switching late to North Texas. He has a good arm but is a pro-style QB playing in a Mean Green system that is better with a dual threat guy, like Chase Daniel.

Dodge was productive at Southlake Carroll but always had great talent around him and never had to carry the load. His RB at SLC was Texas freshman Tre' Newton, the son of former Dallas Cowboy OL Nate Newton. He played with at least three DI WRs.

Dodge was 5-10, 165 coming out of high school and has never really bulked up since going to UNT. He broke his collarbone in his final high school game and got a few concussions in his first year at UNT. His dad played him at WR because he didn't want him to get banged around like Vizza.

Daniel was short at SLC and Missouri, but he bulked up to about 220 pounds so he could take the beating that comes in that offensive system. Dodge is too frail to take that punishment.

Things will not go well if the Dodges cannot turn UNT around in '09.

Boomer, you need to ask Fouq and G about that.
