Thanks for posting that story, now I don't have to rewrite it. I was looking for it yesterday but couldn't find it.

Paul was a classic. Most of the callers on 1420 suck. They either have some stupid agenda, yell and scream too much, think they are best friends with the Host, give themselves nicknames, have little catch phrases, or whatever. It's quite annoying. However, Paul wasn't trying to be anyone else, or trying to become famous, or trying to rile up anyone's feather's. He was just Paul, and aside from his "old man comedy", the fact that he just wanted to talk about certain things without trying to be a side-show is probably what I appreciated most about him.

I wish I would have listened yesterday afternoon to hear all the stories. I figured that Jay (and/or any of the others) would have said/done something special, but I forgot to pull up the site.

Paul was not really old. Only 72 or 74 by one account. By age he was my twin brother if you get what I mean. And I am not claiming to be old. At least not yet.

Just a question, what store did he have? I'm from BB, but I'm a youngster and wasn't sure what store Paul ran.

I was wondering this too. My wife is from BB, she never heard of him, but might have been in the store.

Not offended at all. The only thing that make me feel older that I am is this damn Athletic Department. Hope they make me feel young again and real soon.

It was a convienecy store and from Listening to Jay and the other guys I think it was the Shell across from the Fruit stand. After Ike, Paul called in and made reference to the cover over the gas pumps at the store near his house (and i think he might have said his store) being flipped over. That's the only one in town that flipped like that.
