HOUSTON – Four members of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team were among 123 athletes from 76 universities named on Monday to the 2014 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List.

Named to the list for the Ragin' Cajuns were offensive linemen Daniel Quave and Mykhael Quave – the only set of brothers named to the list – plus defensive lineman Justin Hamilton and linebacker Dominque Tovell.

The award, which is given to the best college football lineman, is named after legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi.

Daniel Quave, a 6-foot-3, 324-pound senior, earned second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2013 after starting all 13 games at right guard for the Ragin' Cajuns and extending his streak to 39 consecutive starts. The Gautier, Miss., native helped pave the way for one of the top rushing attacks in the Sun Belt Conference while leading the Cajuns with 34 knock down blocks.

Mykhael Quave, a 6-5, 295-pound junior, started all 13 games last season at left tackle and finished second on the team with 30 knock down blocks. The Gautier, Miss., native extended his consecutive starting streak to 26 after starting all 13 games in 2012 at left guard.

Hamilton, a 6-2, 295-pound senior, led all defensive linemen for the Ragin' Cajuns with 38 tackles with nine tackles for loss and team-high four sacks. The Natchez, Miss., native earned second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors after playing in 13 games with 12 starts.

Tovell, a 6-2, 248-pound junior linebacker, finished second for the Ragin' Cajuns with 67 tackles, including a team-high 12 stops for loss. Tovell, a native of Columbia, Miss., added a pair of sacks, forced two fumbles and broke up a pair of passes.

Louisiana, which finished 9-4 last season and earned the Sun Belt Conference title, will open its season at Cajun Field on Aug. 30 against Southern University.
