Quartet of Cajuns tabbed on Lombardi Award watch list

Football is a game often determined in the trenches on both sides of the ball, meaning linemen and linebackers play a large role. Fitting then, that the biggest watch list of all is dedicated t the big fellas.

The watch list for the 2014 Lombardi Award, which honors the top lineman or linebacker in college football was unveiled Monday, with LSU senior La'El Collins and a trio of UL players among the whopping 123 players listed.

The three Cajuns are offensive linemen Mykhael Quave and Daniel Quave and defensive end Dominique Tovell.

Implicit in the article is the fact that these four are rated higher than the four LSU has at those same positions, but were not selected. (Could it be that we have developed them better?)

This sets the bar high ... hopefully all will perform well during the season.
