UL - Upon entering the University of Louisiana's Edith Garland Dupré Library, visitors are immediately drawn to a spectacular 112-foot long, 57-inch high mural depicting Louisiana's medical history. This amazing multi-paneled mural, the History of Medicine in Louisiana, capturing the state's medical evolution from the 1700s to the 1940s, was painted in 1948 by renowned muralist Franklin Boggs, Professor Emeritus of art at Beloit College in Wisconsin. But, just how did this work of art, which disappeared for 15 years, end up at UL?
