The field was pretty and the weather was nice but the play on the field? Seriously, the worst I've ever seen in a bowl game. Neither team really looked ready to play football. The one and only highlight was the 97 yard KO return by a tiny 'lil feller for LaTex.

They "sold" 41k tickets. They didn't have that many in the stands. The Indy focused on getting the seats from the wide angle field shot to look packed... can't blame them. The key isn't in how many they claim for attendance or how many tickets they "sold" (large numbers were given thru civic groups). It is how much money they made. It isn't what they "report" to the media... it is about what the financial audit reveals.

The game was lackluster and the "mystique" of Dooley and Tech should have been hidden for a couple more years. I thought the game looked a lot like an old regular season Big West game between the two teams. Congrats to Tech.

Sure would have been cool to see Fenroy, MD and Chery lighting up the place.... and it would have happened.

The place looked pretty packed to me. The endzones had some empty seats but that is about it.

I understand your sentiment but its the wrong analogy. To be a "Judas" he would have had to be one of us to begin with. He never has been a UL fan.

When I saw, early in the first half, the endzones were empty. And the upper seating was sparse. Everytime they showed NIU fans, it was a really tight shot, I wonder why.

OK... I meant "Bob", not Judas. You do not want to hear the "story of Bob"... the proper analogy. Turb's "alternate wording" function would halt the forum for a week on CPU interrupts.

It's hard to imagine even the hardestcore college football fan watching the entire game. TV ratings, Chicago and anywhere else? These I have to see.

Latex should have scheduled a rematch with Southeastern. Based on the first one, it would have been a much better game.

I do have to admit, however, that LA Tech's helmets do have a distinctive logo and their uniforms look great. IMO, Tech has done a great job of separation from UL and ULM as we are joined together and stuck in the SBC. The move is working for Tech even if they didn't get the original invitation to C-USA. Perception wise, Tech is head and shoulders above UL and we have only ourselves to blame for it. _
    TO Mr OPTIMISTIC:
ARE YOU NUTZ, TECH IS NOT AHEAD OF US HEAD AND SHOULDERS, THEY HAVE NO SPRING SPORTS AND OUR FOOTBALL TEAM ALONG WITH ASU, FAU, AND TROY WOULD HAVE BEATEN THESE GUYS. BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LA FLAG ON THEIR HELMET , GEEZ YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME WITH THIS CRAP. IT IS FRICKING POLITICS THAT THEY ARE IN AND WE ARE NOT. IT WAS A SYMBOLIC JESTER TO TECH THAT THEY ARE PLAYING IN THE FINAL I-BOWL( MY PREDICTION) THE ATTENDANCE PRINTED IN PAPER WAS 41,000. I DOUBT IT THOUGH. THEY NEVER ( WHILE I WATCHED) SHOWED THE UPPER DECKS ON EITHER SIDE. THE STADIUM IS 51,000 OR 55,000 IF I REMEMBER CORRECT.

IN CLOSING, WHY WOULD YOU EVER SAY SOMETHING LIKE TECH IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE US. SOMETIMES YOU PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT ACADEMICS AND LOOK ONLY AT FOOTBALL. I ONLY HOPE YOU GIVE A LOT OF MONEY TO RCAF WHEN COMES TO BE AND THEN MAYBE YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL PUT US HEAD AND SHOULDERS AHEAD OF THEM. THIS SOUNDED HARSH BUT I GET PEEVED AT STATEMENTS LIKE THIS.

i have been a semi-fan since my daughter enrolled and i started writing checks to your outfit. i like to see them do well, but am not emotionally invested in them. i would have liked them to get to, and win, a bowl game.

Politics kept us out? It wasn't the fact that we didn't win 7 games? We let politics play a part in the decision. Handle business on the field and take the political decisions out of the equation.

The RCAF that we have heard about for over a year and still have not heard anything about? Or how about the 5 year plan that was suppose to be unveild? Probably just dotting all the i's and crossing those t's huh?

This admin/athletics department has not proven anything to any of us yet some people still want to back them up every chance they get...why not let them prove something before we give them our backing?

Seriously? Arguing we deserved to be in the I-Bowl in place of La Tech is laughable. Sure we have an argument about NIU, but not Tech. It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with going 7-6 in the WAC and Ruston being 1 hour away from the game.
