  1. Default Heisler picks Cajuns baseball

When University of Louisiana associate head coach Anthony Babineaux called Mangham senior pitcher/first baseman Ridge Heisler this week and asked him if he wanted to be a Ragin Cajun, Heisler had a simple answer for him. “He asked me and I ...

Not to take from this young man, but is this a result of losing Nolan Brown? What happened with him?

TCU it appears. I would imagine he changed his mind when Deggs left.

Whoa, we lost Brown? We lose anyone else?

Brown signed an NLI last year. Very unusual for a player not to honor a written comittment. It's not like we just got put on probation or something. We were a game from Omaha. Whatever.

The NLI is binding. If the player does not honor it you lose the year of eligibility, unless the AD releases the player. I hope he hits .200.

    Evidently "extenuating circumstances" happened. :/

Evidently, we let him out of his NLI. Which could mean that Coach Robe and the young man had an honest, heart to heart talk about what his life might be like as a Ragin' Cajun.

Not everybody is Greg Davis... studly enough to start for almost everybody, but spending a lot of time on the bench... but working just as hard as if he was starting to be ready for his time.

I have no first hand knowledge. That's only an uneducated guess.

Who knows. I very seriously doubt an assistant coach leaving would motivate a player of his caliber to switch schools. Brown is a stud whoever he plays for and he knows it. We might have encouraged him to matriculate elsewhere in light of "extenuating circumstances". We still reloaded without him.
